Phi Chapter

Gamma Phi Beta was founded in 1874 at Syracuse University by Helen M. Dodge, E. Adeline Curtis, Frances E. Haven and Mary A. Bingham. Built on the core values of love, labor, learning and loyalty, our sisterhood inspires the highest type of womanhood within our chapter and beyond.
At CU 51´«Ã½, we continue our founders’ legacy by promoting intellectual growth, empowering women and serving our community. Our members are dedicated to building strong bonds and uplifting one another through meaningful experiences and leadership opportunities.
Philanthropy
Our national philanthropy isÌýGirls on the Run, an after-school program that encourages young girls to develop confidence, friendships and healthy habits while training for a 5K run. G Phi members volunteer as running buddies and support the cause by fundraising through events likeÌýMoonball—a popular sports tournament, typically volleyball in the fall—and additional philanthropy event in the spring.
